Welcome inside...

Open the front door to a glimpse of the stone chimney and  stair case which winds up to the sitting room and balcony in the treetops.

​

Cloud watch from the upstairs master bedroom on a rainy day overlooking the valley or retreat to the luxury ensuite bathroom and sky watch through the roof window above as you relax in the bath. Sit with a drink on the  bedroom balcony, taking in the sweeping valley views.

 

Immerse yourself in the ambience of the downstairs library, an eclectic collection of books, old and new on cooking, gardening, travel and more.

Cocoon yourself by the cosy wood fire nestled in the majestic stone chimney on a cold winter's day.

​

Cook up a storm in the luxury kitchen featuring contemporary concrete benchtops and pantry.

Wander Outside...

Relax in a comfy chair under the rambling grapevine

clad pergola.

Wander in the garden down to Wallaby Creek as it meanders along to the Kiewa River across the road.

​

Stroll up through the olive grove to the dam paddock, taking in the sweeping vista of the valley and overlooking the river.

 

Enjoy the east boundary views, the perfect spot to watch the changing colours of the hills as the sun sets.

 

Feel like a hit of tennis? The court is yours to enjoy during your stay. In the evening, have a fire in the fire pit on the terrace.

Accommodation

Situated in the Kiewa Valley, River Road Farmhouse is a peaceful retreat, the perfect place to relax and reset.

​

We have available:

​

    - One upstairs queen bedroom and ensuite

        - One downstairs queen bedroom and bathroom

- One queen upstairs bedroom

​

Please note: There is a maximum of 6 guests at any one stay.

​***** Children must be very closely supervised both inside the Farmhouse and in the surrounding garden at all times.

Like any rural property in Australia, there are wildlife and water hazards, as well as steep drop offs along driveways and tracks.

Just across the road...

The River Road Farmhouse is located across the road to the Kiewa River, another perfect spot for a picnic, swimming, fishing and kayaking​.

 

Amble along the road to Briggs Bridge for a majestic view of Mount Bogong which is covered in snow in the winter​.

 

Ride your push bike along Redbank -Mongans road as it follows the river, exploring numerous swimming holes and country lanes, saying hello to the cows and horses along the way.

Further afield...

River Road Farmhouse is centrally located in the Victorian Alps/High country.

​

A 15 minute drive to Mount Beauty.

activities include:

- Gorge walk

- Pebble beach walk

- Mountain Creek picnic ground

- More challenging Mount Bogong summit walk

- or just relax at a cafe or wander the shops

​

50 minutes to the Victorian ski fields at Falls Creek and the Bogong High Plains.

​

40 minutes over 'the gap' to Bright, stopping off for spectacular lookout views along the way.

​

30 minutes to historic Yackandandah and Beechworth is a further 15 minutes along the road.

​

Take the Trapper's Gap road in summer to the Mitta Valley.

Things to Note...

Your accommodation is in the Farmhouse. We reside during your stay in the nearby separately yarded studio.

​

The garden immediately surrounding the house is yours for your private enjoyment during your stay, but you may find us in the outer reaches of the garden, tending the vegetable patch or cut flower garden or the farm beyond. We are on hand if needed during your stay, but otherwise keep to ourselves.

 

 Bringing more guests than specified in the booking is not permitted as we operate on a sustainability platform

As much as we love animals, we do not allow pets.

​
